Pilotta.io is Cypriot pilotta online, free to play in your browser on a phone or a computer, with nothing to download. Pilotta is the card game Cyprus loves most: four players in two partnerships, a 32-card deck from the 7 to the Ace, and eight tricks a round. Everything moves counter-clockwise — the deal, the bidding and the play.
The rules are the Cypriot ones, as played at the coffee house. Cutting is mandatory, even when your partner is winning the trick. Once a trump is on the trick you must play a higher one if you can, and if you can't, you still play a trump, however low. Bidding starts at 80 and rises in tens. Declarations, the pilotta, capot, the closed game and the Rule of 6 all count.
To start, open pilotta.io/play and choose whether to play against the computer or online. You don't need an account — you can play as a guest straight away. An account keeps your progress, coins and stats, on whatever device you sign in on.
Against the computer you play a whole match on your own, with a computer partner against two computer opponents, so there is nobody to wait for. New to the game? Learn Pilotta teaches it step by step. With friends, create a table, send them its code and play from wherever you are — or pick quick match and the game finds you players.
The usual match is played to 301 points, and a table can agree another target, such as 251, 351 or 401. On Pilotta.io you choose 151, 251 or 301 (301 unless you change it), or any number from 51 to 5001; quick match online plays to 151.
